Title:  Postage Stamp Series 3

Medium:  Paint (Windows 7 Application)

Guess what?  I graduated!  Here is what may be the last postage stamp collage, at least for awhile.  Now that my schedule is much more open, I am hoping to do more daily crafts with actual stuff (paper, dirt, my hands, etc.) as a break from all of the digital art that got me through the semester.  Happy day, all!  🙂

The Owl and the Pussycat

Title:  The Owl and the Pussycat & Colors

Medium:  Paint (Windows 7 Application) & Microsoft Word (Office 10)

Edward Lear’s “The Owl and the Pussycat” is my favorite childhood poem.  I remember that I had an illustrated copy of the book, but I have not been able to find the same copy since.  All I remember is that the water was very blue, the owl was brown, the cat was grey, and her dress was pink.  The boat was, of course, pea-green.  I also remember that her dress and parasol were very frilly, and they sat on a blanket on the beach eating quince.  I really wish I knew who had done those illustrations.  Poem by Edward Lear can be found here.

Title:  Postage Stamp Series 2

Medium:  Paint (Windows 7 Application)

Round two of the postage stamp series.  I really like having one of these docs set up, so that each day I can do a quick doodle while drinking a cup of tea or listening to the radio.  🙂

Title: Postage Stamp Series 1

Medium:  Paint (Windows 7 Application)

I bet you thought I’d quit the Frabjous project!  No sirree, Bob.  With grad school picking up, I do not have much time to post.  But, I have been doing these postage stamp doodles on a Paint document.  I can fit 40 doodles on a standard Paint document (unless I can figure out a way to change the canvas size), so I figured I’d just do one of these a day until life settles down.  And finally, today, after whittling away at my school to-do list, I have enough time to post the image!  🙂

Title:  Steampunk Gear

Medium:  Paint (Windows 7 Application)

After browsing several of my favorite steampunk sites to see what fun steampunk events I have to look forward to in 2011, I have steampunk on the brain!  I decided to draw a little gear doodle on the computer.  I prettied it up with something that is supposed to be an emerald in the center.  I have until May to build my own steampunk goggles…  🙂

Go Wild!

Title:  Wild Self

Medium: Digital Art

Call me a total geek, but this is just cool.  I know it’s geared for kids, but who cares?  The New York Zoos and Aquarium’s “Build Your Wild Self” site is really fun to use.  The backgrounds have animation and sound effects, and the graphics are pretty cool.  It’s a good starting place for getting kids interested in wildlife and the environment.  And who hasn’t always dreamed of having a chameleon tail or butterfly wings?  C’mon, now.  You know you wanna…   🙂

Title: Grow

Medium:  Digital Flipbook

I’m all about crazy weird digital stuff I can do online.  This blog has given me reasons to search for things I can create from my computer.  I have always been a huge fan of flipbooks, ever since I was little.  Several days ago I thought to myself that there must be a website where people can make their own digital flipbooks.  And there is.   BenettonPlay has an awesome flipbook feature, as well as several other neat, interactive things.  I haven’t tried them all yet, but I plan to.  Also, I plan to make more flipbooks, as this one was dead easy and really fun to do.  Summer on the brain, much?  🙂
